PITTSBURGH — Bouts of heavy rain and strong thunderstorms will continue to be a threat through late tonight.

A flood watch is in effect for Allegheny, Beaver, Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties through Wednesday morning.
Wet weather will come in waves, and while there will be many dry hours, any storms that develop will continue the threat of heavy downpours and localized flooding and damaging winds.
A new round of thunderstorms is expected to develop Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday evening. The strongest storms should be southwest of Pittsburgh. However, heavy rain will be possible across much of the area.

Showers will back off a bit Wednesday before new rounds of showers and storms will be possible Thursday and Thursday night.
