PITTSBURGH — Showers and storms will be hitting Wednesday morning, and a few of the storms could bring damaging winds and heavy downpours.

A round of showers and isolated storms will develop before sunrise and continue through mid-morning, then a second, stronger wave of storms is possible after lunch.

Storms should develop south of I-70 first, then move north through Pittsburgh by early afternoon. Clusters of storms will be possible, and anytime between noon and 5pm storms could bring damaging wind gusts.

There is a better chance for storms developing after lunchtime Wednesday. The warm, muggy weather will help to fuel the chance for severe weather in the afternoon.

Main impacts from stronger storms will be damaging winds and heavy rainfall.

We stay warm and muggy into the weekend with a stray shower or storm possible through Saturday morning.
