Another unseasonably warm day with chances for rain

PITTSBURGH — Get ready for another unseasonably warm, summer-like day as highs soar into the low to mid 80s this afternoon. A temperature of 83 degrees would tie the record high set all the way back in 1882!

We should enjoy plenty of dry time during the day before rain returns later tonight. There can be a gustier storm this evening north of Pittsburgh, closer to I-80, but the overall severe risk is low overnight as rain pushes in late and storm fuel wanes. Still, there can be some brief heavy rain and gusty winds as the front crosses.

Most of the rain on Easter Sunday will exit as the sun rises. Temperatures barely budge throughout the day; we’ll remain stuck in the low 50s with breezy conditions. There can even be some flurries late Sunday night as numbers fall into the 30s.

Early next week will be chilly with highs dropping into the 50s on Tuesday and lows plunging into the 20s on Tuesday night. But those warm-weather lovers don’t have to be too upset, as another big warm-up is expected toward the end of next week.
