BELLEVUE, Pa. — A Bellevue woman says she is angry and shaken after police say a man followed her home from a nearby bar and quietly approached her front porch early Sunday morning.

Doorbell video from Hallett Place shows a man, identified by police as 26-year-old Anthony Bartos, walking up the steps toward Jerah Jorinscay’s home shortly after midnight.

“He knew exactly how to be quiet; he put those gloves on, following me,” Jorinscay said. “He knew what he was going to do.”

Jorinscay told Channel 11 she had left a nearby bar and was walking home alone.

According to a criminal complaint, surveillance video obtained by Bellevue police shows Bartos following Jorinscay as she walked home, at times staying roughly a block behind her.

Police say Bartos was wearing dark clothing, a baseball cap and gloves.

Jorinscay said she did not realize someone was behind her until she reached her after she arrived home.

“He turned around in front of my neighbor’s house when he saw me struggling with my keys to get the top lock open and that’s when he approached the porch,” Jorinscay said.

According to police, Bartos walked up the steps and reached toward the screen door before Jorinscay screamed.

Video then shows him walking away.

“He laughed, he thought it was funny and he told me to calm down,” Jorinscay said. “I hope he is laughing in jail right now.”

Court documents detail other recent encounters involving Bartos.

Just one night earlier, on August 15, two women told Bellevue police that a man followed them as they walked back to their residence.

According to the criminal complaint, once they arrived, the man exposed himself before leaving.

Police say the women were able to photograph the man’s vehicle and license plate.

Investigators determined the vehicle was registered to Bartos.

The complaint also details a separate case in McCandless.

Police say an officer there saw video of the Bellevue incident posted online and contacted investigators because of its similarities to a July 5 case.

According to the complaint, Bartos had been arrested in that McCandless investigation, which police described as “similar in nature.”

Investigators noted similarities in the suspect’s build and clothing, including black gloves.

Jorinscay is now urging other women to remain vigilant, saying she had been paying attention to her surroundings during her walk home but still did not notice the man until he reached her porch.

“I watched him run down this street,” Jorinscay said. “That was the most freeing feeling to watch that man run away from me.”

Jorinscay said she is now making additional security improvements to her home, including adding cameras and lights.

Bartos is inside the Allegheny County Jail.

He faces charges including stalking, possessing instruments of crime, loitering and prowling at nighttime, simple trespass, disorderly conduct and harassment in connection with the Sunday incident.
