CENTER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Center Township officials say a boil water advisory that was issued in the community earlier this week has been lifted.

The boil water advisory was issued on Monday after a water sample tested positive for coliforms, including E. Coli.

Per Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection regulations, consecutive samples were taken to confirm the water is free of bacteria.

As of Wednesday, all further tests have since come back clean.

“The Authority would like to express its apology for this inconvenience to all our affected customers. This incident occurred at only the location previously mentioned, which was the Township Road Garage on Wilhelm Drive and no other sample within the Township has shown any signs of Coliform including E. Coli presence, therefore we do feel this was an isolated incident directed to that sample site only,” a spokesperson for the Center Township Water Authority said.
