CENTER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A Beaver County community is under a boil water advisory after a routine test showed E. Coli contamination.

Monday evening, the Center Township Municipal Authority said, a sample in the area of Township Road Garage and Wilhelm Drive tested positive for coliforms which included E. Coli.

Four other samples taken at other locations did not have any coliforms.

Residents are encouraged to boil all water for a minute and let it cool before using it. Bottled water is also encouraged for cooking, drinking, ice making, teeth brushing and dishes washing.

“We are in contact with PaDEP and are taking the steps to determine and rectify the problem. Daily samples are being taken until two consecutive days demonstrate no coliforms are present at which time the Water Authority will lift the boil water advisory. We will inform you when the boil water advisory is lifted,” the municipal authority said.

Anyone in need of more information is encouraged to call the Center Township Water Authority at 724-774-7766.
