CitiParks hosting annual Track-and-Treat event at Pittsburgh’s Highland Park

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh will be hosting a special event at one of its parks to help families get an early taste of Halloween fun.

The City’s Department of Parks & Recreation (CitiParks) will host its annual Track-and-Treat at the Bud Harris Cycling Track at 1401 Washington Blvd in Highland Park on Oct. 24 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Families will be able to decorate their bikes in tune with the holiday and learn more about how to stay safe while riding them.

Visitors are encouraged to bring their own bikes, but some bikes will also be available to borrow.

Plenty of treats will be available, with offerings from food trucks and other refreshments up for grabs.

Families can also participate in games or a costume contest, which will be held at 2 p.m. and will have winners from across four age groups for three different categories: funniest, scariest and most original.

The event is free to attend.
