DELMONT, Pa. — Construction on the new power plant and data center in Homer City is expected to have a major impact on traffic in Westmoreland County.
Trucks will pick up pieces at the Armstrong Terminal in Freeport, then follow Routes 66 and 22 to Homer City.
Officials say more than 50 trucks, moving about 15 miles per hour, will be traveling that route over the coming months.
“It’ll impact police operations, it’ll impact fire operations, it’ll impact school buses and all those kinds of things,” Delmont Mayor Dave Weber said. “So, we want to be sure that the folks are aware of it.”
The deliveries are scheduled in three phases, with the first starting Sept. 14.
