TURTLE CREEK, Pa. — Heavy rains caused flash flooding throughout the area on Friday.
Turtle Creek was one of the communities hit the hardest.
Mud and soot still cover the roads, where floodwaters have receded.
People who have lived in the area for years say they have never seen the flooding this bad in the community before.
Flooding washed out Larimer Avenue for about an hour before receding.
A Channel 11 photographer also captured video of part of a hillside that slid down a property on Hollywood Drive in Hefferson Hills because of the heavy rain. It then created flooding.
In Westmoreland County, drivers in New Stanton were dealing with flooded roads.
While things have calmed down, we are not in the clear yet. More rain is expected over the weekend.
