PITTSBURGH — Members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 29 voted Sunday to ratify their contract with Duquesne Light Co.
This comes after roughly 1,000 workers went on strike Oct. 1 following failed contract negotiations.
DLC and the union reached a tentative agreement on a new five-year contract Thursday.
IBEW Local 29 acknowledged the vote’s results in a social media post, saying, “A huge thank you to everyone that supported us and all of our members for standing with us.”
According to the union, 526 members voted to accept the contract, while 184 voted to reject it.
