Indiana Township supervisors vote down controversial housing development plans

Controversial plans for a new housing development in Allegheny County have been struck down.

Wednesday, the Indiana Township Board of Supervisors voted to deny the application for the development along Cove Run Road, according to Supervisor Jonathan Neumann.

Weaver Homes had proposed building 94 single-family homes and 78 townhomes.

Neighbors previously spoke out against the plans, citing safety, traffic and proximity to state game lands.

The developer can still challenge the supervisors’ decision in court, Neumann said in a social media post.
