WASHINGTON, Pa. — Fast-moving water flooded roads and created problems for homeowners across parts of Washington and Allegheny counties Saturday evening.
At the intersection of Hanna and Houston streets in Washington, crews roped off part of Hanna Street as water could be seen gushing from a manhole.

The flooding also forced homeowners along Houston Street to begin cleaning up around their property.
“The flooding, it is just despicable,” one homeowner told Channel 11.
Neighbors said flooding has repeatedly affected the area this summer.
One woman said water reached the second step of her porch and that her family has previously lost personal belongings.
“I am down to one vehicle. Three of my vehicles ain’t starting because of the flooding,” she said.
She said her green van stalled in the floodwater Saturday with her 6-year-old niece and another family member inside.
“He took my niece out of the window because the water was probably about this far up the door inside the car,” she said.
Homeowners believe clogged drains are contributing to the repeated flooding.
“The drains need cleaned out badly. I swear, that’s what the whole problem is,” one homeowner said.
In Allegheny County, Channel 11 captured police blocking flooded stretches of Baldwin Road as water from the Streets Run watershed spilled onto the pavement.
Video also showed drivers slowly navigating through the floodwater.
Neighbors along Houston Street said heavy rainfall has created a constant problem and hope something can be done with the drainage system to prevent more flooding.
