JEANNETTE, Pa. — A Westmoreland County man has pleaded guilty to threatening to kill federal agents.
Dale Ankey, 72, of Jeannette, pleaded guilty to three counts of retaliating against federal law enforcement officers by threat.
Authorities went to Ankey’s house after police reported finding Facebook posts threatening to kill ICE and IRS agents. The posts also made threats against other countries and mentioned killing federal agents multiple times. Agents went to his house in July to warn him, but that is when police say he told law enforcement to get off his property and threatened to shoot them as they were leaving.
Police reported finding 21 guns, two silencers, magazines and ammunition in Ankey’s home.
He faces a maximum sentence on each count of up to 10 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000 or both, and is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 7.
