‘The Pitt’ to film at historic Pittsburgh restaurant

PITTSBURGH — A historic restaurant on Pittsburgh’s North Side will close Thursday as the restaurant will be used to film a scene for ‘The Pitt."

“From serving Pittsburgh since 1903 to becoming part of one of television’s biggest shows, we’re proud to see our little piece of North Side history in the spotlight!” Max’s Allegheny Tavern posted on its Facebook page.

The popular series was back filming at Allegheny General Hospital on Monday, shooting exterior scenes — including on the LifeFlight helipad and various entryways.

“We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate everyone’s understanding,” the restaurant said on Facebook, “And don’t worry — we’ll be back to serving up your favorite German food before you know it!”
