PITTSBURGH — A Pittsburgh homicide detective who was already facing charges of falsifying his time sheets is being accused by a new company of claiming he worked when he didn’t.
A manager at a construction company said Kalieb Hines did not show up for a 4-hour shift in June but submitted an invoice for $299.16 for the work.
The manager said they had specifically gone looking for Hines and the marked patrol car he was supposed to be in but couldn’t find him.
A Pittsburgh Police commander agreed, and charged Hines with Theft by Deception, a first-degree misdemeanor.
Hines was previously charged with misrepresenting his time sheet at a Target in East Liberty, where he was accused of not working his full off duty shifts but invoicing for the full shift.
The criminal complaint indicates Hines was paid $480.20 for five hours and 55 minutes that he never worked.
He was placed on administrative leave after that initial charge.
