Police share new details on deadly McKeesport shooting, call for information to help solve the case

MCKEESPORT, Pa. — The Allegheny County Police Department has released new details about a deadly McKeesport shooting and renewed its call for information that can help them solve it.

Kurtis Shaw, 37, was found shot inside his home on the 1700 block of Abraham Street on March 29, 2025. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.

On Wednesday, police said more than a dozen shots were fired at Shaw’s house. He was hit multiple times while sitting on a couch inside.

Police added that the shooter fired their weapon from inside a stolen vehicle that was later found and recovered by McKeesport police.

Investigators have also revealed that they do not believe Shaw was the intended victim.

Police said shots were also fired at Shaw’s house the night before he died.

Anyone with information on Shaw’s death or anyone with information that can help identify a suspect in the shooting is asked to call the Allegheny County Police Tip Line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS.
