It’s been one week since Jaqueline Goldsmith Watson was shot and killed in her Pittsburgh apartment building.
Her sister, Charlene Goldsmith, tells Channel 11 she still has so many questions.
“This is so confusing. I have no idea why someone would hurt her,” Charlene Goldsmith told Channel 11.
“Everyone we talk to keeps saying, ‘Not Jack. Why would anyone hurt Jack?’” she said.
Pittsburgh police found Jacqueline shot to death in the doorway of her apartment on Chauncey Drive in Bedford Dwellings.
Charlene told us her sister was making a meal for her friend’s wake the next day.
“Cooking chicken! That’s it! Not bothering anybody, and all of a sudden out of nowhere this stranger comes up and has a confrontation with my sister and next thing you know, bam! She’s gone,” she added.
Police say Jaqueline was killed just before 3 a.m. and they found several shell casings surrounding her body.
“She was right there on the first floor, so the door was open. I don’t know where he came from, what he wanted or anything,” she said.
The day Jacqueline was killed, two other men were murdered in unrelated shootings in Homewood.
The violent day prompted local activists to call for an end to the violence in the city.
“I just hope wherever you are, you do the right thing and turn yourself in because this is senseless. You killed my sister for no reason,” Charlene said.
Police have not released any information about suspects or people of interest.
