Search warrant served on City of Pittsburgh sealed for another month

PITTSBURGH — A search warrant on Pittsburgh’s City Hall is going to remain sealed for another 30 days, at least.

On Thursday, a judge approved sealing the warrant for another month.

The initial search warrant seeking information and documents from the administration of former Mayor Ed Gainey was issued in March and was immediately sealed for 60 days.

A judge has approved every one of Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappalla’s petitions to keep the warrant sealed since.

Zappalla previously said the search warrant should remain sealed so it doesn’t tip off any potential targets.

No charges have been filed yet and the investigation is apparently still ongoing.
