PITTSBURGH — State leaders were in Allegheny County on Thursday talking about an effort to clean and redevelop hazardous sites.
The Shapiro administration is investing $20 million in Pittsburgh.
That funding will help support environmental oversight and the redevelopment of the former steel mill site Hazelwood Green.
“This doesn’t just protect our environment; it creates opportunities for economic growth, producing more jobs in manufacturing, construction, conservation and environmental services,” Lt. Gov. Austin Davis said.
State officials say the funding will make sure projects like Hazelwood Green can continue moving forward.
