PLUM BOROUGH, Pa. — A local family is mourning the loss of a beloved husband, father and grandfather.
James Baker, 66, from Penn Hills, was riding his motorcycle when he was hit by a car along Unity Trestle Road at around 3:45 p.m. Sunday.
The car took off and Baker died from his injuries.
The victim’s family told Channel 11 they are heartbroken. They are begging for the driver to come forward.
Police are looking for the driver of a white Lincoln sedan.
Channel 11 obtained an exclusive surveillance photo of the car believed to be involved, taken just seconds before the crash. Police say they found the car later but no one was in it.
Baker’s family hopes to get some answers soon as Allegheny County police investigate.
The family also hopes this brings motorcycle safety awareness.
Baker’s family says he was a hard-working family man and a good-hearted person. He has two daughters and two grandsons. He loved hockey and riding motorcycles.
Baker’s wife told Channel 11 they had been together for 36 years and were getting ready to celebrate their anniversary in two weeks.
