ADAMS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — The Mars Area School District investigated new threats Wednesday.
In a letter sent just after 4 p.m., administration notified families and staff of “threatening statements” written on a bathroom wall at Mars Area Elementary School.
Administration worked with security to investigate the threats and determined that an elementary student had written them.
“We want to reassure you that the situation has been investigated and there is no threat to the health and safety of the student body and/or staff members at Mars Area Elementary School or at any other District buildings,” the letter reads. “The safety and well-being of our school community remain our highest priority, and we take all concerns of this nature seriously.”
The letter does not mention any actions the school would take against the student.
This comes a week after a bomb threat was found written on a bathroom wall in Mars Area High School, prompting heightened security.
Adams Township police made an arrest in connection with the high school threat.
