PITTSBURGH — Happy first day of October! It certainly doesn’t feel like it, with high temperatures soaring into the low 80s this afternoon. Humidity levels will be on the rise too, which will keep temperatures in the 70s and upper 60s much of the night.

The warm-up doesn’t last with rain ahead of the next front pushing through Friday, mainly from mid-morning through afternoon. Only light rainfall amounts are expected, with most areas seeing a quarter inch or less.

Drier air will push in Friday night, with sunshine and fall-like air back for Saturday. Another fast-moving wave may clip the ridges with a shower Sunday, but most of us won’t see rain this weekend.

Next week will be very fall-like with highs in the 60s and night-time lows dipping into the 40s. Depending on which nights are calm, there may be a chance for at least some patchy frost!
