GREENE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Troopers and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to Love Road in Greene Township, Indiana County early Saturday morning for reports of a shots fired incident.
There was also a report that someone had been shot.
Troopers said they arrived on the scene and saw a male and female who were trying to save the victim.

The victim has been identified as Derrick Michael Davis.

Davis had been struck in the upper shoulder area by a gunshot.
After an investigation, the shooter has been identified as neighbor James Eugene Lantz.
Troopers said the incident began as a verbal and physical dispute. Lantz then retrieved a firearm, which he fired at Davis, striking him once, troopers said.
Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said Lantz fled the area on foot in an unknown direction and was subsequently taken into custody without incident by Pennsylvania State Police.
