PITTSBURGH — Bloomfield’s Little Italy Days won’t be happening this year, and neither will the Columbus Day Parade because of COVID-19.
Organizers said this year would have been extra special because for the first time in as long as they can remember, both events would have lined up.
The 2020 Little Italy Days was initially scheduled for August, but when that couldn’t happen, organizers hoped to be able to have it in October. It would have fallen on the same weekend as the Columbus Day Parade, which was also cancelled.

Now, Little Italy Days won’t happen until 2021, tentatively set for August 19-22.
The events are two separate entities, but they were working together.
Parade organizers said they decided to cancel because they couldn’t take the chance with COVID-19.
