One of the suspects has a plea deal on the table and now he's debating whether to take it.

Scott Lichtenwalner had agreed to the deal when he thought it meant just a four-to-eight year prison sentence, but prosecutors said they want him to serve consecutive terms on all charges, meaning he could be in jail for up to 16 years, according to our news partner the Trib.

April Alsippi, Lichtenwalner’s girlfriend, is already facing a harsher sentence of up to 20 years in prison, so she wants to try her luck in a trial.

The couple is accused of kidnapping an elderly woman outside the Shop N Save in North Apollo, threatening her with a knife and at one point, locking her in the trunk.

She escaped when the couple left her alone in the car and she had enough time to drive away.
Lichtenwalner has until Tuesday to decide if he'll accept the plea deal or go to trial.
