SOUTH FAYETTE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A flatbed truck crashed into a utility pole early Thursday morning along Washington Pike, knocking out power to homes and businesses in South Fayette Township and Bridgeville.
Officials said the crash was reported about 1 a.m. and knocked out a transformer, which leaked oil. The driver apparently hit the gas instead of the brakes.
As of 12 p.m., Washington Pike remained closed between Bursca and Daniell drives while repairs are made.
