WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. — Kennywood Park announced Tuesday it is retiring four rides to make way for future attractions.
The four rides being retired are The Kangaroo, Paratrooper, Bayern Kurve and the Volcano, previously known as Enterprise, park officials announced on Facebook.

In a Facebook post, park officials said it was necessary to make room for other attractions like they did for Thomas Town and their new roller coaster, The Steel Curtain, and surrounding Steelers Country.

Park officials said they’re looking forward to adding new attractions in future seasons.
The announcement comes after a year of challenges for the amusement park.

Kennywood Park closed early this year. Park officials said they decided to stop operating for the season on Labor Day because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kennywood did not hold its annual Halloween Fright Nights and cancelled its annual Christmas Holiday Lights display.
