Officers perform CPR on man before he died from gunshot wound

PITTSBURGH — Officers responding to a shooting scene in Homewood North in Pittsburgh performed CPR on a man who was found shot, but he later died at an area hospital.

Police said they responded to a report of a man shot around 9:45 p.m. on Mohler Street at Ferris Court. Officers found the victim, 32-year-old Justin Gomez, as he was losing consciousness. The officers worked to save him until paramedics could arrive.

The shootings are still under investigation.

Investigators said Gomez was taken to a nearby hospital where he died. A second man arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound to his shoulder and police said he told them he was also shot on Mohler Street.
