ALIQUIPPA, Pa. — A petition drive has been started with the aim of ousting an Aliquippa school board member.
“Nobody with a criminal offense should be on a body of people and try to tell them how to do things right when they did something wrong themselves,” said former board member Ezra Lowe.
Lowe demanded that Catherine Colalella resign. Colalella is facing three felony chargers including two counts of insurance fraud and one count of theft by deception. Instead of a trial, court documents showed she was put into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program. Similar to a first offenders program, Colalella has to complete community service, pay a fine and was put on probation.
Lowe said after he gets enough signatures he will take the petition to a judge in Beaver County.
