Rescue crews cut off car’s roof after Route 51 crash

PITTSBURGH — Rescue crews rushed to the scene of a crash on Route 51 in Whitehall early Saturday.

The crash occurred near the Safelite AutoGlass and Frank’s Automotive shortly after 1 a.m.

911 dispatchers told Channel 11 at least four people had to be taken to the hospital.

Our crew at the scene could see a van and a car were both damaged. Crews had to cut the roof off the car to help the people trapped inside.

It’s not clear what caused the crash.
