Suspect in deadly shooting at Monroeville Mall turns himself in

MONROEVILLE, Pa. — The man suspected of a deadly shooting in the parking lot of the Monroeville Mall turned himself in to police Friday.

Lawrence Mark Murphy, 20, is accused of shooting Saheed Gayle on Oct. 7 after an argument that started inside the mall. Gayle was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Murphy arrived at the Allegheny County Jail around 5 p.m. Friday, along with his attorney: Casey White.

Investigators believe this was a targeted shooting and that Murphy and Gayle knew each other prior to the deadly incident.
