SWAT team searches Pittsburgh neighborhood after report of gunfire

PITTSBURGH — A SWAT team searched Pittsburgh’s East Hills neighborhood Tuesday morning after multiple shell casings were found in front of a home.

Pittsburgh police first responded to Sickles Street about 3:30 a.m. because a ShotSpotter alert notified them of seven rounds of gunfire, police said.

No shooters or victims were found by SWAT officers, according to police. The scene cleared about 6 a.m.

Officers noticed the shell casings in front of the home, so the SWAT team was brought in to search the area and get in contact with the residents, authorities said.

Police are investigating.
