Victim of violent home invasion dies from injuries, man facing numerous charges

PENN HILLS, Pa. — The victim of a violent home invasion in Penn Hills earlier this month died from his injuries Monday morning.

Charles Pershing, 36, is now facing criminal homicide charges in connection with the death of 65-year-old Loxley Johns.

Johns died Monday morning, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office.

The incident happened Sept. 3 on Runnette Street.

A woman who was also a victim of the break-in was treated for her injuries and released from a hospital.

Pershing remains in the Allegheny County Jail.
