SHALER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A violent crash early Friday morning shut down part of a busy road in Allegheny County for hours.
The crash happened along Babcock Boulevard in Shaler Township around 1:30 a.m.
The driver lost control of the car and it slammed into and sheared a utility pole.

Emergency responders had to be extra careful because the power lines are energized and they are dealing with live wires.
Babcock Boulevard was closed for an extended period of time so Verizon could finish their repair work on the pole.
