The shooting sparked attendance changes and increased security.

The first of the Friday games featured Allderdice and Brashear. Only parents and adults with ties to the schools were allowed to attend.

“Everything was fine. You know, it’s sad,” Nicole Jones said. She’s the parent of a Brashear football player. “Keep it like this. I’m good like this. I prefer safety first.”

Game two saw Perry take on Carrick. It was Perry’s senior night, so the district allowed younger Perry family members to attend.

“The restrictions are suitable. We have to know the districts are going to protect our children,” Shekwae Nicholson said. Her daughter is a senior cheerleader for Perry. Her son is on the football team.

She told Channel 11 she witnessed the fallout from Thursday’s triple shooting and had some concerns about playing Friday.

“I was at work at Presby. I was there when trauma came in. I was just hoping all the kids were okay. I thought maybe they might cancel the game,” she said.

“I pray for everybody last night. I’m happy everybody is okay,” another said.
