PITTSBURGH — A man was convicted of shooting and killing another man outside a bar in the Hill District in 2024.
Deshawn Wallace, 48, of Homewood, was found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of Derrick Eggleton.

Prosecutors said Eggleton tried to run away after the initial shots were fired, but Wallace chased after him and shot him three times.
“After having the opportunity to meet the victim’s family, we truly hope that today’s conviction can provide some measure of justice and comfort to you during these difficult times,” said District Attorney Stephen Zappala.
Wallace is scheduled for sentencing on Feb. 1.
