PITTSBURGH — Gunfire rang out Thursday night after a high school football game in Pittsburgh’s South Side.
So far, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting near George K. Cupples Stadium that injured three teens. The incident prompted increased security and attendance changes during Friday’s games.

Three teens were shot after a high school football game in Pittsburgh.
Allegheny County dispatchers said police officers, firefighters and medics were called to the 900 block of East Carson Street in the South Side at 9:48 p.m. on Thursday. That is in the area of George K. Cupples Stadium, where a City League football game between Westinghouse and University Prep was played.
Pittsburgh Police Chief Jason Lando said Pittsburgh Police and Pittsburgh Regional Transit Police were providing precautionary security at the game.

Pittsburgh Public Schools is responding following a shooting that occurred after a high school football game on Thursday evening.
Several fights broke out outside of Cupples Stadium on the South Side before shots rang out shortly before 10 p.m.
Two teen boys and a teen girl were hit by gunfire. They were all taken to a hospital and are in stable condition.
Pittsburgh Public Schools restricts after-school events following shooting near football stadium
Pittsburgh Public Schools is adjusting operations after three teens were shot outside a high school football game on Thursday.
Superintendent Dr. Wayne Walters said all schools in the district will be operating in secure mode out of precaution on Friday.
All after-school and afternoon activities are canceled, with exceptions for some football games.

Pittsburgh Public Schools announced several changes for Friday’s games after three teens were shot last night. PPS says spectators have to be 18 or older. No loitering is allowed outside of the stadium, and fans at Cupples Stadium have to stay in the stands.
“From the get-go, a lot of intense plays and typical chirping between teams, but nothing that I thought was going to end the way it did,” Rachel Zimmerman said.

Day after triple shooting, Pittsburgh stadium hosts 2 high school football games with extra security
Two games were played at Cupples Stadium on Pittsburgh’s South Side less than 24 hours after three teens were shot after another high school football game at the same location.
The shooting sparked attendance changes and increased security.
The first of the Friday games featured Allderdice and Brashear. Only parents and adults with ties to the schools were allowed to attend.
