PITTSBURGH — The FBI and Pittsburgh narcotics officers were seen Wednesday morning going in and out of a home in Pittsburgh’s Observatory Hill neighborhood.

Investigators with the attorney general’s office were also involved in the raid at the home on Dunlap Street.

This was the culmination of a year-long undercover investigation into illegal drugs and guns.

Agents rounded-up members of a violent street gang that operated out of Pittsburgh's West End, known as the Greenway Boy Killas, or GBK.

"GBK was also responsible for the violence that we regularly see with drug trafficking," said U.S. Attorney Scott Brady. "This included everything from shootings to aggravated assaults to robberies and home invasions."

More than 300 officers fanned out across Allegheny, Washington, Butler, and Center counties, targeting 24 locations.

Officers arrested 26 of 29 people indicted on federal drug and gun charges during the raids. Two other suspects turned themselves in on Thursday and Friday.

One person is still on the run in connection with the case, investigators say.

According to police, they conspired to distribute cocaine and heroin.

FBI agents told Channel 11 GBK is just one of 50 neighborhood gangs operating in Allegheny County.

"We want the message today to be as strong as possible: if you associate yourself with this type of gang activity, this task force will find you, arrest you, prosecute you and put you in jail for as long as the law allows," said Bob Jones, FBI special agent in charge.

All of the suspects arrested went before a federal judge who outlined the charges against them.

Neighbors said a nice family, including a newborn, lives in the Dunlap Street home that was raided.
