PITTSBURGH — A driver was thrown from an SUV after crashing in a Pittsburgh neighborhood.

Police and paramedics rescued the woman on Brookside Avenue in Beechview after she got pinned underneath the SUV.

Residents like Norman Davis said the road can be dangerous, especially during the winter months.

The SUV had crashed into a telephone pole, and police believe the woman was able to get out. That's when she slipped and slid under the vehicle, where she got trapped

The woman was taken to a hospital but only suffered minor injuries.

“You can easily lose control and go sideways and slide down and going up it if it’s at all snow covered or icy you might as well try to find another way around," he said.
