FAYETTE COUNTY, Pa. — A Fayette County man is accused of trying to meet up with a 14-year-old boy he met online, but that underage boy was actually an undercover law enforcement agent.
According to a criminal complaint, the agent from the Pennsylvania attorney general’s office received a direct message from Kelly Harrington, who said he was 48 years old.
The agent, who was posing as the underage boy, stated he was 14 years old, the complaint said. The man then tried to arrange a meeting with the boy.

Police arrested Harrington, of Normalville, on Wednesday after they set up a meeting place in Hempfield Township.
Police say he was talking to the boy on a popular social networking app. When the boy said he was 14, Harrington allegedly said, “I didn’t wanna get caught.”
When the two established an address of where to meet — and agreed to exchanging sex — Harrington allegedly said, “Do you promise me (we) won’t get caught I don’t want to be known as a child molester that’s not me.”
Agents say Harrington had two chances to back out of the meeting, but he showed up less than 45 minutes later knocking on the “child’s” door.
Harrington has no prior criminal record, but he’s now in the Westmoreland County Prison facing felonies.
