WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. — A local superintendent is accused of knowingly hiring a man who was under investigating for murder.

A school board hearing was held in West Mifflin Wednesday night regarding the future of Daniel Castagna.

The board is considering removing the suspended superintendent.

He was hired as a security guard with the school in 2014, but later fired after it was discovered he had a felony murder charge.

TRENDING NOW:

Is Dr. Castagna responsible in any way for Robinson's hiring? Or is it simply the contractor, Pittsburgh Protection, who the district hires to hire security guards?

More public hearings are set for next month and are expected to be held at the middle school.
