Steelers launch charity walk for Chuck Noll foundation at camp

Chuck Noll led the Steelers on the field for 23 years, winning four Super Bowls and a place among football's legends.

Now, the franchise and Saint Vincent College are teaming to honor the Western Pennsylvania icon with an inaugural charity walk at training camp this summer.

The Steelers Charity Walk will benefit the Chuck Noll Foundation for Brain Injury Research, the college announced Wednesday.

The honorary co-chairs for the July 29 event will be Steelers and Pro Football Hall of Famer Joe Greene, and Garrett Webster, son of late Steelers and Pro Football Hall of Famer Mike Webster.

Greene will talk about his time playing for Noll at 8:30 a.m. at Chuck Noll Field. The walk will begin at 9 a.m. and follow the Winnie Palmer Nature Trail on the Saint Vincent campus for about 40 minutes. After the walk, participants can watch the Steelers’ morning practice.

Registration is available at www.steelers.com/charitywalk. The cost is $25 per registration and includes a commemorative t-shirt. Packet pickup will start at 7 a.m. that morning.
