35-year-old veteran's heroic final moments caught on camera before donating organs

FORT WORTH, Tx. — An army veteran’s heroic final moments are making their rounds on social media.

Staff Sgt. Matthew Whalen suddenly suffered a stroke that left him on life support.

After mulling over the difficult decision whether or not they would try to keep him alive, his family made a tough choice to take him off of life support so his organs would be able to donate to two other veterans.

Whalen’s moment was caught on cellphone video as he was pushed on a hospital bed into the room he would eventually die in.

In the video, viewers can see a Terrible Towel draped over his right side.

Those who served with the four time combat vet and father dressed in uniform, and stood at attention as they saluted him one last time.
