Driver killed after collision with mail truck

MARSHALL TOWNSHIP, Pa. — The driver of an SUV was killed after colliding with a mail truck that had just pulled out of a post office early Friday morning.

According to police, a bulk mail tractor-trailer was pulling out in the area of Perry Highway and Thorn Hill Road when a Mercury Mountaineer SUV coming in the opposite direction collided with it.

The SUV went under the mail truck and the driver of the SUV was killed.

Emergency officials said the mail truck had to be emptied before the SUV could be pulled out.

Route 19 remained closed while officials investigated the crash.
