PITTSBURGH — A person is dead following a shooting in Pittsburgh’s Homewood neighborhood on Wednesday morning.
At around 5 a.m., police responded to a 1-round ShotSpotter in the 7000 block of Idlewild Street.
When officers arrived, they found a male in the middle of the street who had been shot in the chest and was unresponsive.
Officers rendered aid until medics arrived, but he was pronounced dead on the scene. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner later identified that man as Andrew Evitt Lee Hall, 34, of Homewood West.
At 6:43 p.m. on Wednesday, police said Thomas Jackson, 51, of Pittsburgh, had been arrested in connection with this shooting. He is charged with criminal homicide and tampering with physical evidence.
He is being held at the Allegheny County Jail.
