18-year-old charged with attempted homicide after man beaten in Aliquippa

ALIQUIPPA, Pa. — Police have charged an 18-year-old after a man was beaten Saturday in Aliquippa.

According to the Aliquippa Police Department, officers were called to the 300 block of Superior Avenue around 1:22 p.m. for a reported assault and unresponsive person.

They arrived to find a man with “significant” injuries to the head and face, and police say he went into cardiac arrest.

First responders performed CPR on the man, who was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. His condition is not currently known.

Witnesses told police that the man had been assaulted, slammed to the ground and stomped in the head.

Investigators identified the suspect as 18-year-old Chaunez Robinson.

Aliquippa police later arrested Robinson at an apartment along Superior Avenue.

Robinson is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, police say. He is being held at the Beaver County Jail.
