3 men accused of robbing residents at gunpoint, threatening to rape 10-year-old

SEWICKLEY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Authorities are searching for three men accused of holding up a home at gunpoint and threatening to rape a 10-year-old girl Thursday.

According to police, the men forced their way into a home on Lowber Road in Sewickley Township, Westmoreland County, around 2:30 a.m. Inside the home at the time was the homeowner, her two sons, ages 35 and 37,  and her two granddaughters, ages 4 and 10.

Once inside the home, the men, who were armed with at least one handgun, demanded money and physically assaulted the homeowner’s sons. Police said the 37-year-old male was physical assaulted to the point where he has level two trauma injuries and was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital.

Authorities said after the two residents did not comply with the ring leader’s requests for drugs and money, he discharged a firearm, forced the 10-year-old girl to strip naked and threatened to rape her if his requests continued to be ignored. The residents provided the ring leader with a small amount of cash, but the burglars demanded more, police said.

The 10-year-old girl said she knew more money was in the car. The ring leader took her outside to the car, where the naked 10-year-old girl pointed to the change in the console, which the man deemed “not sufficient,” according to the police report. He then inappropriately touched the girl, physically assaulted her and forced her back inside the house when she tried to escape, police said.

Once back inside the residence, the three men took the small amount of money and firearms and fled in what was described as a dark colored pick-up truck, authorities said.

Police described the ring leader as a black man in his mid-30s who is 6 feet tall, with a medium to stocky build. He was wearing a dark bandana over his face at the time of the burglary.

The second suspect was described as a black man in his mid-20s who is around 5 feet 10 inches tall, 160-170 pounds, with shoulder length dreadlocks.

The third suspect was believed to be a teenager who is around 5 feet 10 inches tall and 165 pounds, with a close cut hair style.
