BUTLER COUNTY, Pa. — The 5th annual Garrett Fifield Memorial Mutt Strut was held in Butler County Saturday.
The event honors Garrett Fifield who died at a young age in 2017. Fifield loved animals and would volunteer at the Butler County Humane Society.
Proceeds from the event benefited the humane society.

Garrett’s mother, Amy Fifield said the event keeps her son alive in a positive light.
“We wanted to do something meaningful in his memory and he was such a huge animal lover and we decided to create a mutt strut in his memory to raise money for the butler county humane society,” said Fifield.
The event featured a peanut butter eating contest for the dogs and a costume contest. Attendees were able to get some exercise in with their animals with a two-mile dog walk.
Visitors were also able to participate in several different raffles.
Last year the event made around $20,000 for the Butler County Humane Society.
