Adult, 2 children hit by car in Robinson Township

ROBINSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — An adult and two children were hit by a car while walking along Steubenville Pike and Lorish Road in Robinson early Wednesday morning.

Channel 11 saw medics treating a young child in the ambulance, but it appeared everyone was okay.

This intersection is a concern for many people who walk in the area, especially bus riders.

“Every morning to get to work, I take the bus to get to work,” Elliot Nelson said. “It’s a struggle to get over. Even when you’ve got the red light, and cars are going this way, it’s still hard to cross the street.”

Pittsburgh Regional Transit has a bus stop for the inbound route on Steubenville Pike across from the Get Go.

“This is a dangerous stop,” Nelson said.

While there is a light showing when to cross the street, there are no painted crosswalks anywhere on the road.

“There’s no crosswalk lane,” Nelson said.

“Do you think that needs to be put in to make it a little bit safer here?” Channel 11’s Andrew Havranek asked.

“A little bit better, yes,” Nelson said.

“It definitely would make an impact, let people know that there is people walking across the street,” Dejon Howard added. “Would make sense to put it painted there.

Riders also have to wait for the bus out in the rain as there is no cover at the bus stop, and no sidewalk.

“It would be nice if it had a carryover for the rain, blocks the rain and everything,” Nelson said.

The accident is under investigation.
