22-year-old man killed in hit-and-run in McKeesport

MCKEESPORT, Pa. — A man was killed after being hit by a car in McKeesport.

Just after 11 p.m. Saturday night, police were called to the intersection of 5th Avenue and Lincoln Way for an incident.

According to the Medical Examiner’s Office, 22-year-old John May was killed after he was hit by a car at that intersection. The intersection was just a few doors down from May’s house. He died just after 11:30 p.m. at UPMC McKeesport.

According to Allegheny County police, the driver fled the scene. The 19-year-old woman driving the car was found, along with the vehicle, around 4 a.m. in Turtle Creek.

Homicide detectives initiated an investigation and the findings will be sent to the district attorney’s office for a charging determination.
